Hleragerðin in Reykjavik, Iceland was established in 1948 and has been involved in manufacturing and repair of trawl doors from the beginning. Since early days of wood and steel combination doors to oval steel doors, Hleragerðin is now building high performance moderned designed doors built on their renowned reputation of quality workmanship for long lasting trawl doors facing rough fishing conditions in north Atlantic.

40 years of progress
The main object in design and developing process of Polar doors was to obtain as good spreading force know by best doors makers on the market but more importantly, to achieve less resistance. With computer simulations, several trips to Flume Tank testing and modification after actual fishing trial backed up with experienced friends and skippers, Polar doors high spreading force and reduced spreading force has been confirmed.
