The Polar trawldoors
The main object in design and developing process of Polar trawldoors was to obtain as good spreading force know by best doors makers on the market but more importantly, to achieve less resistance. With computer simulations, several trips to Flume Tank testing and modification after actual fishing trial backed up with experienced friends and skippers, Polar trawldoors high spreading force and reduced spreading force has been confirmed.
The first full year in operation, 2006, more than 120 pairs are sold weighing more than 300 tons, ranging from 0,7m² and 60 kg Jupiter doors to research vessel in Canada to 10,5m² and 5000 kg Neptune doors to f/v Vigri in Iceland.
Despite young age, Polarfishing gear has already launched its second generation of trawl doors. The new generation is named hydro-wing.
